Breed Description
View Photo

Although originally bred as hunters to chase game out from their dens, Wire Fox Terriers also make wonderful family companions, as ready for action and playtime as they are for a cuddle. Wires are known for their outgoing, playful and affectionate temperament. Your Wire Fox Terrier puppy still has the prey drive of his ancestors and is always ready to give chase, so a fenced yard is a good idea. He's also highly trainable and excels at activities like agility. Friendly and confident, the breed is naturally upbeat and athletic. With training, exercise and attention, he'll be the family's comedic and endearing best friend.
